- Pursuant to the FCC’s Eighth Report and Order (FCC 24-120), only voice service providers, gateway providers, and intermediate providers that control SIP interconnection to the PSTN are required to implement STIR/SHAKEN. Superior Eagle Communications does not operate facilities-based interconnection to the PSTN and therefore has no STIR/SHAKEN implementation obligation. We provide managed VoIP/cloud phone system services to business customers, but all PSTN connectivity, numbering resources, and call authentication are provided through our customers’ chosen upstream SIP providers (e.g., Telnyx, Bandwidth, or other carriers of record). Because Superior Eagle does not control the network infrastructure necessary to perform STIR/SHAKEN authentication, we are exempt under the FCC’s rules and certify as a “Voice Service Provider without a STIR/SHAKEN obligation.”
