Exemption rules
Paragraph 40 of the FCC’s First Call Authentication Report and Order (FCC 20-42) excludes providers that lack control over the network infrastructure necessary to implement STIR/SHAKEN from implementation obligations. Because UJET, Inc. does not own or operate any infrastructure, networks, or facilities, it lacks control over the facilities and network infrastructure necessary to implement STIR/SHAKEN, and it is thus not required to implement STIR/SHAKEN pursuant to paragraph 40. Instead, UJET, Inc. relies on underlying carrier partners to implement and utilize STIR/SHAKEN.

Prior investigations / actions

Description
On December 10, 2024, the Enforcement Bureau (Bureau) of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) released an Order directing certain companies named in an Appendix A to cure the deficiencies in each company’s Robocall Mitigation Database (RMD) filing and to notify the Bureau that the deficiencies had been cured. Each company’s RMD filing was found to be deficient because the company’s robocall mitigation plan lacked newly-required information or the company’s RMD filing itself lacked newly-required information. UJET, Inc. was one of the companies identified in Appendix A which needed to update its RMD filing with newly-required information. In response to this Order and to cure the deficiencies, UJET, Inc. added the required information to its RMD filing and robocall mitigation plan and notified the Bureau of its efforts. UJET, Inc. is currently waiting for the Bureau to determine whether any further action is required.
