- At this time, CCI is exempt from full STIR/SHAKEN implementation pursuant to the non-IP extension under 47 CFR § 64.6304(d). This extension states that the portions of a provider's network that rely on technology that cannot initiate, maintain, carry, process, and terminate SIP calls are deemed subject to a continuing extension. Because CCI handles some TDM traffic, and portions of its network are non-IP based, CCI claims the non-IP extension cited above. In compliance with subsections of 47 CFR § 64.6303, CCI is also participating as a member of a group or consortium that is working to develop and test a non-IP caller identification authentication solution, and it can provide the Commission with documented proof of such upon request.
